The strawberry poison dart frog is a tiny, brightly colored frog that you can find in countries like Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama in Central America. We found this little creature in a night jungle tour in the Arenal area of Costa Rica. It was the size of the tip of my thumb!
These frogs are called ‘strawberry’ because of their red color, but they can also be found in many other colors like blue, green, or yellow. Even though they’re small, they’re easy to spot because of their bright colors. But, you have to be careful because their skin has poison. This is how they protect themselves from being eaten by other animals. However, they are not dangerous to humans unless eaten or touched in large amounts. They live in warm and humid places like rainforests, and the sound of their chirping is common in these areas. The strawberry poison dart frog is a really fascinating creature of the wild.
You find them in Costa Rica and the Arenal area.
