Paris: Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum, situated in the French capital, is globally recognized as one of the largest and most prominent art museums in existence. With its origins dating back to the 12th century when it was initially constructed as a fortress, the museum underwent various renovations, eventually transforming into a royal palace. It boasts an extensive collection of art and artefacts, encompassing some of the most recognizable works globally, including the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the Venus de Milo. The collections are extensive, spanning over 9,000 years of human history and showcase artworks and relics from a broad range of cultures and civilizations, from ancient Egypt and Greece to the Renaissance era and beyond.
