From our hotel room in Bishkek, we had a view of the quiet street down below. With parked cars by the sidewalk and electricity poles lining the street, the area seemed less busy than other parts of the city. A building under construction caught our eye, but there were no workers in sight, adding to the quiet atmosphere. We wondered what the neighborhood would look like when the construction was done. In all, our room’s view showed us a calmer side of the city, and although it wasn’t very lively, it gave us a unique glimpse of the community and local life.
